• Heinz spaghetti in tomato sauce has been a favourite with British families since it was first imported to the UK in 1926. After Heinz began producing cans of spaghetti, baked beans and soup in Harlesden in the 1930s, tinned pasta became very popular, especially as it would have been considered quite exotic and foreign. Low in fat and sugar, Heinz spaghetti is still a firm favourite, with many a simple yet delicious meal made by adding a tin of 'spag' to a jacket potato, or some hot buttered toast. Surprisingly nutritious and suitable for vegetarians, the tomato sauce in every can counts towards your 'five a day' portions of fruit and vegetables.
